The mission of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who will make our world a better place. They serve approximately 41,500 girls and 18,000 adults in 34 counties in the greater Atlanta area.
The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia works to feed the ill, needy, seniors and children in 14 counties in northeastern Georgia. They distribute almost 15 million pounds of food every year to soup kitchens, food pantries, senior centers, churches, etc. They even have a mobile food bank truck that delivers food directly to those who need of emergency food assistance.
Students in Metro Atlanta's low-income neighborhoods have some of the lowest graduation rates and SAT scores in the country. The mission of Triple "L" Horse Rescue is to save horses from starvation, neglect, abuse, abandonment, and slaughter. TLHR provides these horses with care, love, and rehabilitation. Since 1988, Kids Chance of Georgia has been providing scholarships to the children of Georgia workers who have been serious, catastrophically, or fatally injured in work-related accidents.
